Things have changed drastically in the past 200 years. Even though our population of rural self employed Americans has decreased dramatically, they have become so efficient we now have the most abundant food supply we have ever had. Their sons and daughters have left the farms and ranches to try their hand at other entrepreneurial ventures. We now shop at the corner markets they own, they fix our plumbing, build our houses and repair our cars. Small Businesses represent 95 percent of businesses, employ more than 70 percent of the American work force, and create two-thirds of the net new jobs. Because entrepreneurial small firms are such an important part of the American economy, what is good for the overall economy is also generally good for small business. Small business owners form the strong backbone of the American economy. By the year 2010 economists and labor experts estimate that 50% of the work force will be self-employed. The American dream of becoming an entrepreneur has become a necessity!! The old world days of loyalty between employer and employee no longer exist. A company will relocate, reduce staff or make “ business decisions” with absolutely no regard for their staff or the families it will affect. In most cases individuals have little choice but to take their hobby, an idea or passion and create an enterprise…out of necessity! Today, working out of a home office has replaced the 9 to 5 commute to the office, factory or work place. You be the judge. Next time you walk outside your house take a moment and look around you! What do you notice? Think about it…your neighbors are contractors, roofers, plumbers, retailers, realtors and many work out of their home office? How many of your neighbors are employed by big business? Surprised? Don’t be. Today small business accounts for an estimated 95% of American business and employs a staggering two thirds of the work force employed in the U.S. today. The market in our industry is absolutely exploding and will continue to grow throughout the decade. The reality of lost benefits provided by the company they left,
especially health insurance is now a reality. Self Employed Insurance Group is dedicated to this new market by providing major
medical and catastrophic coverage that the small business person
can afford. In addition, by utilizing 21st CENTURY technology we
have made the process simpler, faster and more cost effective.
We have succeeded in OUR MISSION: To provide affordable
medical coverage to small business in a cost effective and
profitable manner utilizing 21st Century technology. "Health Insurance Coverage for the self employed is a major concern.."So why is this picture less than perfect? Self employed business owners have to deal with inequities. Representation in Washington is lacking, tax laws favor the big corporations and health insurance coverage for self employed individuals does not equal that available to corporate employees in most cases. Self employed health insurance costs have skyrocketed in the last few years, putting it out of reach for many hard working small business owners. In 2002, the average cost across the U.S. for one day in the hospital was $1149.
Healthcare technology has advanced over the last 75 years as well. Health insurance coverage for self employed business people needs to cover you in the event of a catastrophic medical event. You want to protect your assets - your house and your business; you want to provide for your family in the event you can't work. Self Employed Insurance Group has years of experience working with self employed small business people just like you.
